Senior Designer
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the engineer, the Senior Designer is crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of fire protection installations. This position takes place in a context where precision and compliance with safety standards are essential to ensure customer satisfaction and building safety.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect missing project information on the construction site, particularly during site visits to existing buildings.
- Perform dimensional calculations to determine the technical characteristics of the installations, including risk assessment, hydraulic calculations, and pump and sprinkler selection.
- Design fire protection systems that comply with applicable standards and codes.
- Coordinate with other external disciplines, such as architects, to create plans.
- Draw 3D plans when required for better visualization and understanding of projects.
- Coordinate the delivery of plans to construction sites to ensure smooth installation.
- Resolve installation issues that may arise in the field.
- Review plans during change requests to ensure compliance and system optimization.
- Respond to TQC (as-built) requests to ensure the accuracy of final documents.
- Support the preparation of the client manual, including technical data sheets and the TQC plan.
- Participate in weekly follow-up meetings with clients to ensure smooth communication and rigorous project monitoring.
- Operationalize the strategic planning and action plan for fire protection projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- DVS in technical drawing or a related field.
- Minimum of ten years’ experience in the design and drafting of fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable fire safety standards and codes.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with other professionals to ensure the accuracy and quality of plans.
- Ability to determine the technical characteristics of facilities.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal and external teams.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and adapt to project changes.
- Attention to detail and rigor in the execution of tasks to ensure the quality and compliance of installations.
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations (an asset).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Starting salary based on experience – between $33.28/h and $41.60/h
- Eligible for the annual bonus plan
- Four (4) weeks of vacation after one year
- Group insurance and group RRSPs with employer contribution
- Occasional travel to construction sites and for client meetings
- 40-hour/week schedule at the Boucherville office

Fire Protection Mechanic
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
An experienced fire protection mechanic to join our on-site team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection systems.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Excellent knowledge of fire safety standards (NFPA, Quebec Construction Code).
- Solid technical skills in sprinkler system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans.
- Skills in site management and team leadership.
- Autonomy and the ability to resolve technical problems in the field.
- Good communication skills with clients, the team, and other project stakeholders.
- Experience in the field of fire protection (installation, maintenance, and inspection)
- Training in mechanics or fire protection systems (an asset).
- Willingness to contribute to diverse and innovative projects focused on sustainable development (an asset)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region (Montreal, Laval, South Shore, Estrie).
